National Memorial Arboretum Winter Warmer 28/03/2025

We do love to plan very special days out and a visit to The National Memorial Arboretum is a must for everyone's bucket list. 
 
Whilst its objective is to honour the fallen as a site of national remembrance, you can not fail to be awestruck by the sheer size and beauty of this painstakingly manicured piece of land. Covering over 150 acres with no fewer than 400 memorials, you can see the love and respect that the staff, many of whom are volunteers, have whilst caring for this very special site. 
 
A land train will be standing by to take you on a tour of the sculpturally magnificent memorials whilst a pre recorded commentary gives you lots of interesting facts and information behind their meaning. 
 
Whilst the day can be quite moving, it definitely won’t be sombre. 
 
We have arranged a hearty lunch of meat and potato pie served with seasonal vegetables and tea or coffee. 
 
You can then visit the well stocked shop, which offers the perfect retail treat during your visit. From books, jewellery, clothing and candles to tasty treats, poppy gifts and pocket money items you’ll find the perfect gift for everyone. 
 
Finally, as the day starts to draw to a close, (light permitting), you’ll be free to explore the park for yourself (mobility scooters available to pre-book) before we head back to the coach full of thought and wonder for the history you will have discovered today!
