Mercure Thame Lambert Hotel & Blenheim Palace, Oxford, October 2025

We were so impressed by this lovely hotel the last time we decided we HAD to visit again.
 
This time we are pairing it with a visit to the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill himself, the stunning Blenheim Palace - a British Jewel which brings to life the ornate Baroque style of the 1600s and 1700s which will make you feel you are living in your own period drama! Think gold, heavy drapes, stunning oil paintings and more gold and you might get an inkling of just how magnificent this palace is.
 
With spectacular gardens and it’s own maze (don’t get lost and miss the coach!) there is lots to explore around the grounds too. And of course you, can grab a bite to eat with options both posh and casual before doing a spot of retail therapy in the well stocked shop.
 
After a warm welcome at the Mercure (not quite as posh as Blenheim but just as lovely!) you will have a delicious dinner with time to relax at the hotel before retiring to room with its comfy bed, flat screen tv, adjacent private bathroom, tea and coffee making facilities and free WiFi .
 
On day two, enjoy a hearty breakfast and pack up your belongs as we are off to Oxford. There will be plenty of time to explore the city of Oxford at your own leisure. Visit some of its historic sights including the number one attraction: the Bodleian Library, With museums and art galleries, quaint shops as well as high street names, Oxford has everything you need for a fabulous day out.
