£18.00Price

Walk: Matlock Bath, Heights of Abraham & High Tor Circular

Difficulty: Moderate

Length: 6.00km

Elevation: 340m

Approximate Completion Time: 2 hours and 15 minutes

Rambler Rating: 4.4 stars

Starting at Matlock Bath train station, the trail heads through the town, up the road past Gulliver's Kingdom, and joins the path through the farmlands and woodlands to the Heights of Abraham. Here you can make a detour to visit this interesting attraction with its caves, beautiful views, cafe, and historic exhibits. This site is not open all year round and an entry fee is required.

The trail then continues, descending through the woods and fields, crossing the bridge over the River Derwent, and joining the path back to the start via High Tor.

Enjoy the scenic paths, lovely views, and interesting sites, but take care on the rough and steep sections, especially in wetter conditions when the paths are muddy and slippery.

Appropriate footwear is required and it is recommended you wear long trousers too as there are some sharp branches about.

You will also be passing through farm fields with livestock, including cattle, so great care is needed.

A highly recommended and rated walk!
