Matlock Bath (affectionately known as an inland seaside resort!) has lots on offer to whet your whistle -  shops, arcades and stunning gardens to view as you slowly meander along the River Derwent to begin. 
 
For those wanting a little more, perhaps you will book a ticket to the Lead Mining Museum within the Grand Pavilion (admission not included) where you can learn all about the miners and mining history of the area as well as view some of the mineral specimens found. 
 
For those with an interest in transport, the Crich Tramway Village is only a short bus ride away and features working trams! (admission not included). And let’s not forget about the Heights of Abraham which boasts show caverns, fascinating exhibitions, a fossil museum, a Victorian lookout tower, and miles of wonderful woodland walks… not to mention the thrilling cable car ride to get there!
